As the colder months settle in, it’s easy to forget about your garden machinery. However, proper care during the winter can make all the difference when it’s time to fire up your mower, trimmer, or blower in the spring. Follow these simple tips to ensure your garden equipment stays in peak condition, saving you time, money, and frustration when the warmer weather returns.
1. Clean Your Equipment Thoroughly
Dirt, grass, and debris left on your machinery can lead to rust, clogging, and wear over time. Before storing your equipment:
- Mowers: Remove grass clippings from the deck and clean the blades.
- Chainsaws and trimmers: Clear away sawdust, sap, and residue from the bar, chain, and housing.
- Other tools: Wipe down surfaces and remove any built-up grime.
A clean machine not only looks better but also lasts longer.

Why Automower®?
The world is constantly evolving and so are the tools we use to maintain our lawns. Gone are the days of spending countless hours mowing the lawn manually with a traditional lawnmower. With the advent of technology, Automower® has emerged as a new and innovative solution to the age-old problem of lawn maintenance. In this blog, we will explain why people should consider an Automower®instead of a traditional lawnmower.
1. Time-saving: Automower® are autonomous and requires very little human intervention. Once set up, they work on their own, freeing up your time to do more enjoyable things. Traditional lawnmowers, on the other hand, can be time-consuming and require a lot of effort to operate.
2. Convenient: Automower® can be programmed to work at any time of the day or night, so you can choose the best time to suit your schedule. With a traditional lawnmower, you have to manually mow the lawn at

Why do I need to service my lawnmower?
Like your car, if you want a long reliable life out of your machinery, then regular servicing is essential.
Most manufacturers require proof of regular servicing in order to maintain the extended warranties they offer. They do this because they know that a regularly serviced machine is much less likely to fail and will give the owner a much better experience with their machine.
If you do notice any changes in the performance of your mower, our specialist service team is always available to advise over the phone, so don’t hesitate to give us a ring.
Another obvious benefit of professional mower servicing is getting your mower back to its full potential, improving power, efficiency, and quality of cut. In all our mower services at Buxtons we sharpen
