The New Dragon Climber First Aid Kit

The need for a climber to have a first aid kit with them at all times is a strong recommendation of the HSE , but their standard recommended contents are not suitable for the types of injury climbers are likely to encounter.

The new Dragon first aid kit has been designed specifically for climbers and contains some important extras.
A standard wound dressing found in standard first aid kits is designed to be applied by a another person and is virtually impossible to apply correctly to your own arm. It has been replaced by a Traumafix bandage which is designed to be applied by yourself and it makes it easy to exert and maintain pressure on a large wound.

Eye irritation and injury is a common problem whilst climbing with saw dust etc blowing around visors and safety glasses. The Climbers kit includes a tube of sterile eye wash.

There is a whistle for attracting attention

Friction burns with ropes can occur and without a water supply it is impossible to take the heat out of a burn, the climbers first aid kit has a sachet of Reliburn which is a cooling burn gel. This will sooth the burn and absorb heat to help prevent blistering.

A Standard First Aid Kit’s recommended contents are not always suitable for the types of injury climbers are likely to encounter, don’t take a chance, when you’re climbing take a Dragon First Aid Kit for Climbers.

Complete Kit Contains:
1 x Basic First Aid Leaflet
1 Pair Powder Free Gloves
1 x 20ml Saline Eye Wash Pod
2 x Cleansing Wipes
1 x Cooling Gel for Burns
1 x Pack 10 Washproof Plasters
1 x Red Whistle
1 x TraumaFix High Pressure Bandage, for major bleed trauma

All contained in a handy pouch with belt loop.

This product is available exclusively at Buxtons

Buxtons has been investing in the arborist industry through 2011 developing new, improved products to make the lives of Arborists that bit easier. This investment is set to continue into 2012 and beyond to bring you a range of superior but affordable and practical arborist products.

This year we have begun to import Yale Cordage LimeLite Climbing Rope and also soft launched our new Dragon Brand with out first product, the Dragon Arborist Harness.

Dragon Arborist Harness

Dragon Harness has been designed to be a comfortable, adjustable, and practical harness suitable for a wide range of body sizes and climbing techniques. It has a supportive back pad, comfortable and supportive triangular leg supports, quick release leg and belt buckles, replaceable bridge, location on back for first aid kit, as well as a good range of attachment points for tools. The harness is easy to adjust to covers a wide range of sizes and the bridge has a large ring fitted as standard, but this can be added to replace as required. The Harness has been on trial with several colleges in the UK and has received excellent reports from experienced and novice climbers alike. It currently retails at £159.00 + VAT.

Yale LimeLite Climbing Rope

Yale LimeLite is a new 24-strand Climbing Line with a diameter of 11.7mm and an average tensile strength: 2950 lbs. LimeLite is a premium climbing line which has quickly become one of our most popular ropes. Its 11.7mm size is close enough to traditional 1/2" lines that footlockers have no problems hanging on. At the same time the slightly smaller size works well in most popular mechanical climbing devices. Lime Lite has a smaller size, less weight (96 g/m) but all the strength to climb with confidence. It also has better knotability as the internal core become quite firm when loaded and therefore behaves similar to traditional 16-strand line. It is available in 37 and 45 m hanks with or without a CE marked factory spliced eye.

LimeLite Climbing Rope with a Plain End and LimeLite Climbing Rope with an eye are available exlusively from Buxtons.
