Locking carabiners - providing safety and security.
Of the selection of climbing equipment available from Buxton's, locking carabiners provide a higher level of security, and the locking carabiners from Petzl and
ISC have been at the forefront of their development.
ISC's range of Springlock carabiners were created following a study that a rope under tension might activate a twist lock. Rising to the challenge of providing a
simple solution, the ISC Springlock locking carabiner employs two opposing rotating sleeves. No matter which way the rope slides, one barrel counteracts the other.
This rolling system also reduces any risk of friction. While experienced users of the spring gate mechanism might find it tricky at first, it is possible to operate
effectively and one-handed. It's certainly worth getting used to.
Buxton's brings locking carabiners researched and developed for you
The Petzl's locking carabiner range has come from a history of research and development from a family company with knowledge in climbing. Covering fields as diverse
as caving and mountain rescue. Using this expertise gained from a history accomplishing absolute safety, Petzl's AM D ball lock system carabiner automatically locks the
gate, only allowing you to unlock once the safety button is pressed and the sleeve is turned.
Also constructed of high-strength aluminium for strength and durability, the Petzl William ball lock can be opened and closed with one hand, and can even be operated
with gloves on. To unlock the gate, the green ball on the sleeve is pressed and the sleeve is twisted. You can also quickly check the sleeve is locked when the green ball
is visible.
Locking carabiners have become an essential addition for tree surgeons and arborists, making security and safety a priority.

The DMM Revolver Carabiner brings a completely new take on the way carabiners work as it uses rolling friction rather than sliding friction as in a normal karabiner when the rope runs over the carabiner bar.
With the DMM Revolver Carabiner, the rope rolls over the pulley wheel which means much less friction is created. Less friction means less force holding the cl...more

William ball lock 25kn
The william range of large pear shaped karabiners is very useful for attaching several ropes or webbing slings to an anchor, or attaching several metal devices. The wide gate opening allows the clipping of rungs or bars of up to 25mm in diameter. The william range also allows belaying with an italian (munter) hitch on single or double ropes.
